iPROS Manufacturing is the first iPROS technology database site. It was launched in 2001. Even though it is called iPROS “manufacturing” the database is not limited only to information about technologies for making things. It lists “products, services and technology related to the manufacturing industry.” Users viewing the site include people involved in all aspects of manufacturing.
However, many people involved in other industries (for example, the distribution industry, etc.) also use the site. In fact, the site is already achieving growth across boundaries between industries. This is the reason why we decided to use the broad category of “manufacturing” and not divide the site into smaller industry units (the auto industry, the semiconductor industry, etc.) . In other words, at a time when industries themselves are becoming increasing borderless we want to bring about unexpected meetings and discoveries for our users.

iPROS Construction is the second iPROS technology database site. It was launched in 2009. Just as we did with iPROS Manufacturing, we used the broad category of “construction” without breaking the target domain into smaller units, and we want to bring about unexpected meetings and discoveries for our users by including peripheral domains in the database as well.
For example, the database is not limited to construction in the generally imagined sense of “building a building.” Rather, it handles a wide range of products and services from the construction design to the civil engineering, construction materials, equipment, and interiors. In other words, it handles everything from the construction method used in the foundation construction stage to the interiors for the completed building. The users mainly viewing the site also work in a broad range of fields, from first class architects to equipment suppliers and designers.
